Xinglun Rope Helped China's First 110,000-Ton Dual-Fuel Powered Oil Tanker

Recently, the first domestically built 110,000-ton new dual-fuel-powered oil tanker was successfully signed and delivered in China, marking a pioneering achievement in domestic mooring for vessels of this size. Xinglun Ropes is honored to have been selected to provide the exclusive mooring solution and rope products for this tanker.

Against the backdrop of the current goals of "peak carbon" and "carbon neutrality," liquefied natural gas (LNG) has emerged as the primary alternative fuel. The delivered 110,000-ton dual-fuel-powered oil tanker utilizes LNG and traditional fuel oil for propulsion, achieving a gas mileage of 16,000 nautical miles. In LNG fuel mode, carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by approximately 20%, and under similar sailing conditions, fuel consumption can be saved by 8% compared to similar products.

The vessel has a length of 249.9 meters, a width of 44 meters, a depth of 21.3 meters, and a designed draft of 13.5 meters. Xinglun Ropes has tailored an exclusive mooring solution for this oil tanker, using a combination of rope tails, UHMWPE ropes, and wire ropes to reduce the load on the mooring system. The XLROPE - CHNFLEX® rope tail used for mooring is independently designed and developed by Xinglun Ropes, featuring excellent cushioning, flexibility, fatigue resistance, and higher residual strength than parallel-core structures. Paired with wire ropes, it provides a more robust guarantee for the mooring of this new type of oil tanker.
