Recently, four 55-meter-long single-point mooring ropes (SPM ROPES), independently developed and manufactured by Xinglun Ropes, were successfully delivered to an offshore oil platform in Southeast Asia. These ropes will provide robust safety assurance for oil and gas loading and unloading operations. Simultaneously, this marks a significant milestone for Xinglun Ropes in the field of marine engineering ropes.
Xinglun Ropes upgraded the structure based on double-braided ropes, using high-strength nylon composite filaments as the core and highly abrasion-resistant polyester as the protective sheath. Metal thimbles are attached to both ends of the eye loops, and the outer layer of the rope around the thimbles is coated with a corrosion-resistant, acid-alkali-resistant, and highly abrasion-resistant coating. To adapt to the working environment of single-point mooring ropes, float tubes are added to the ropes, and 3-strand polypropylene ropes are used on both sides for bundling and fixing.
The production of Xinglun Ropes' single-point mooring ropes complies with ISO and OCIMF standards, offering both ring and single-line types that can be customized according to customer requirements. Compared to traditional rope structures, these ropes have higher strength, better abrasion resistance, and a longer service life.
With the development of offshore oil and gas exploration, single-point mooring systems are widely used. They can adapt to a wide range of water depths, mooring large FPSOs and handling operations in harsh sea conditions.
Through continuous investment and the hard work of the research and development team, Xinglun Ropes has overcome technical challenges in single-point mooring rope technology. This breakthrough enhances the safety index of offshore engineering operations, contributing to the advancement of deep-sea marine development.
